RadiotheraphyThe Radiation Oncology department houses a team of professional Therapy Radiographers who are well trained in delivering radiotherapy treatment using state of the art Linear Accelerators. The department is currently treating patients using methods such as 3D-Conformal Radiotherapy (3D-CRT),
Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT),
Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Radiotherapy (SRT).

By early 2009, the department will be able to introduce one of the latest treatment method available, Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT).

Chemotherapy / Day Chemotherapy

This is where you are admitted for a couple of hours to receive chemotherapy intravenously i.e. through a drip. Then on completion you will be discharged. Sometimes you will be admitted as an inpatient if the treatment takes more than a few hours.
